Do you accept credit or debit cards?
Yes, we accept all major cards are accepted. All our drivers have portable card readers, so you can pay in the car. You can also log your payment details in the app, and payment will be taken automatically at the end of your journey
What areas do you cover?
Your Local Car Tongham covers all the local area. As part of the biggest private hire company in Surrey Heath, we also cover a wide radius across three counties, including Fleet, Camberley, Farnborough, Aldershot, Mytchett and Tongham.
How can I book an electric taxi?
Just ask or type in when you book! Please note there is a slightly higher rate for our electric taxis, as we need to reserve one of our 9 electric VW SUVs or Mercedes eVito executive vans specifically for your journey.
Does it cost more to book via the app?
Actually, the complete opposite! Book via the app and you’ll save 5% over the cost of calling us and booking over the phone. You can also pay via the app using a pre-approved payment method, so no need to carry cash or even cards for your taxi ride.
Who are your drivers?
Our drivers are all local people who have chosen to drive for us. They all have a full driving licence from the UK or EU, plus a PHV (private hire vehicle licence) issued by the local authority.
To get a PHV licence, they must be a ‘fit and proper person’, and their background and character will be checked. They are also interviewed and vetted by us and undergo an enhanced criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Our drivers can work flexible hours that suit them, when it suits them, around family and other life commitments.

How much are your airport taxi transfers fares?
We don’t have a set price for airport transfers. Instead, we quote from your home or office direct to the terminal you require. Just tap your details into the app, or get an airport transfer quote online here.
Is a taxi transfer cheaper than parking at the airport?

Do you provide child seats?
Since all our child passengers are of different ages, please let us know in advance the size of child seat you require. We are happy for you to provide your own seats. We can provide booster seats on request for older children.
Can you accommodate six passengers?
Absolutely! Our executive minivans enable up to eight people to travel with all their luggage in comfort and style. Three of our executive vans are Mercedes eVito vans, providing spacious luxury with zero tailpipe carbon emissions. Popular with corporate clients, they are also exceptionally good value for larger families or couples with lots of luggage travelling to an airport or a seaport terminal for a cruise.
